Taipei 101 The Tallest
Just for fun, let's compare the Taipei 101 - with its 508 meters currently the tallest building in the world - to some buildings & structures in the Netherlands:
1. The Eiffel Tower, Paris (320.5m)
2. Grote Kerk (Grand Church), Breda (97m)
3. Taipei 101, Taipei (508m)
4. Westpoint, Tilburg (142m)
5. Gerbrandy Tower, Lopik (375m)
6. Euromast, Rotterdam (185m)
7. Delftse Poort, Rotterdam (151m)
OK, only number 1 is not in the Netherlands, but everyone knows that, right.
Buildings in Holland are not tall. I think most people are impressed by seeing, for example, the Westpoint building when taking the A58 highway. Or how about driving past Rotterdam, seeing the Delftse Poort (the 'Nationale Nederlanden' building) in the distance. I, for one, while still living & working in Holland, used to be impressed with the arising of the Westpoint. It was just finished in 2004 I think. But in imagination I always tried to think what it would be like if the Taipei 101 was standing there...
The Lopik radio tower is the tallest thing in Holland. If you could stand on the top, it would be almost as high as the observation deck at the 89th floor of T101...

Taipei 101 De Hoogste
Laten we, gewoon voor de lol, de Taipei 101 - met zijn 508 meter op dit moment het hoogste gebouw in de wereld - eens vergelijken met enkele bouwwerken in Nederland:

OK, nummer 1 is niet in Nederland, maar dat weet iedereen toch.
Gebouwen in Nederland zijn niet hoog. Ik denk dat de meeste mensen onder de indruk zijn als ze, bijvoorbeeld, het Westpoint gebouw zien als ze over de A58 komen. Of als je langs Rotterdam komt, en de Delftse Poort (het 'Nationale Nederlanden' gebouw) in de verte ziet. Toen ik nog in Nederland woonde & werkte, was ikzelf bijvoorbeeld vrij onder de indruk toen ik de Westpoint zag verrijzen. Die was net voltooid in 2004 denk ik. Maar ik dacht altijd hoe het zou zijn als de Taipei 101 daar zou staan...
De Lopik radiotoren is wel het hoogste werk in Nederland. Als je op de top zou kunnen staan dan zou dat al *bijna* zo hoog zijn als het observatie-dek van T101, op de 89e vloer...
In Nederland zoog gevoor de ikonder gezoogzien ik. In de clogs (het "Edam") ik denk tulips en de AP mit legs longen de tallest. Als den posten moderatorzamt zeen dis postervoog, er will postervoog deleten ikself!
Nice comparison with those Buildings. Taiwanese are proud of Taipei 101. you also like this building very much,right? :)

The Taipei 101 is far too high. Sometimes it is scary, especially when earthquakes happen. :-|
Het lijkt dat u een goede tijd in Taiwan heeft.
